AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of banned practices and fearsome transformations reverberate through the darkness." The plot features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.
The adventure concentrates on "peculiar trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana in addition to multiple objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's latest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally contained a quest that clearly referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
