Week 10 again delivered, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL

That result could have created things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their 8-2 competitors

Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation next week, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award

Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Did Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a poor performance for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer

The Bills had won seven in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 winners in an surprising result - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third quarter and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to get ready but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but running back De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Bottling up the league's best running game was crucial too, with James Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard average

Additionally there were the three crucial turnovers, and the two from Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that Miami converted to a touchdown just later

It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen trying to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this year

Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of something, but for the Bills they'll require an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East

Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

TreVeyon Henderson clocked the fifth fastest speed in the league this season

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three different eight and two squads in the league, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and Indianapolis really for dominating the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined twenty-four wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Indianapolis beating the Denver

The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Buffalo seems like a statement

Their pair of losses occurred in new head coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight wins, similar to Denver, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was significant

Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he certainly deserves point for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to steer his side to victory

The defense is reliable and first-year rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth runner to exceed 22mph this year on his initial touchdown

Although you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the top record thanks to their schedule - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills

Traveling to Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the schedule

The Indianapolis also face the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two games with the five and four Jaguars to face. There is a long way to travel but the opportunity is available for a shock top seed in the AFC

Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Next Week Showdown

Two teams with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who both scored 40 burgers to reach seven and two ahead of next week's major meeting between the pair in Los Angeles

They've both won four in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a contest

Both could realistically be undefeated as too - particularly the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the final play deflected and run back by the Philadelphia for a score

Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly among the top teams in the NFL

The next matchup on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far
