Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four Grand Slams this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events this season as a result of the illness she has been battling for the last week and a half.

At 22 years old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to rest and recuperate ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating again next season.

She required blood pressure checks during her first-round match versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

She was also playing far from freely in the final set versus Zhu because of back discomfort that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 for the first time for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions for the end of the year.

The athlete revealed that the trial session with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
